One section of high-quality steel log chain sized for placement between rollers in a conveyor used in tunnel car washes. Made of high-strength steel with each link securely welded together, engineered to withstand plenty of wear and tear. This log chain section includes 11 links, and the entire assembly has a total length of 3' 2". The links have a diameter of 5/8" and a 3.5" pitch.
Replace rusted, worn, or damaged log chain on your car wash conveyor. This single section of log chain measures 38.5" long and includes 11 total links. Each link has a 5/8" diameter and 3.5" pitch. This type of chain is commonly used with conveyor systems from popular manufacturers like Macneil and Sonny's. Assuming you're changing rollers at proper intervals, this durable chain will last through about two or three roller swaps under standard conditions. Regularly inspect and replace your chain to make sure vehicles are being moved smoothly and safely through your tunnel!
If you're currently using X458 chain with your conveyor, you've probably realized it can be a bit difficult and tedious to install. Log chain, on the other hand, is very easy to use with conveyor rollers. Plus, it offers increased durability and lifespan over X458 chain and costs less. Knowing this, many operators are making the switch to log chain for their conveyors. Keep in mind that you will have to use different rollers if you make the switch to log chain. You will also need a different sprocket and drum that is compatible with log chain. The next time you plan to replace your rollers is the ideal time to convert, as you were already going to pay for new ones.
One example of a system that can be retrofitted with log chain is Macneil's XR1000 conveyor. For this purpose, we have rollers with a built-in log link, as well as the compatible sprocket and drum.
If you aren't using log chain and aren't looking to make a change, we offer these other popular types of conveyor chain that may suit your application!
While this section of log chain is sized appropriately for the car wash industry, log chain is used in a wide variety of applications with demand for handling heavy items that need to be transferred from one spot to another. Examples include the lumber and wood industry, mills, processing plants, rail, and more.
