Question:I havea wall reel that presently has a staninless steel reel swivel . The internals are shot and I cannot get the stem out? I am considering between brass and pvcs. I know brass is stronger and am fearful of PVC It is only a garden hose and since the price is only 1$ difference I would like you opinion as to which one is going to hold up better. I live in the northeast so there will be freezing weather. I do drain the hose but leave the entire assembly outside during the winter months as it is a wall mounted metal reel assembly.

Response:Both would work for your application, however brass would probably hold up longer with being exposed to the winter elements.
