The Turck BI10-S30-AP6X Sensor is and inductive type sensor with a threaded barrel and cable connection. Using a high-frequency electromagnetic AC field, it detects metal objects without requiring any contact or wear. The field is generated via an RLC circuit with a ferrite coil.
