How Does a Graco AODD Pump Work?

A Graco air operated double diaphragm pump uses compressed air as its power source instead of something like electric or gas. Liquid chambers are filled and emptied by fluid that is drawn through an inlet and discharged through an outlet. Compressed air shifts from one chamber to the other side using a linked shaft. As this movement occurs, the chambers move at the same time. This back-and-forth motion forces liquid out of one chamber and into the discharge line while the other chamber fills with liquid simultaneously. The pump design includes reciprocating elastomeric diaphragms and check valves.

Graco Husky Pumps

Choosing a Graco Husky pump is a smart option for car wash owners. They rank as Graco’s most popular air operated diaphragm pump line, with top models like the 307, 515, and 1050 to name a few. They are incredibly durable while still being lightweight and compact. Husky pumps are capable of handling abrasive and corrosive chemicals like detergents, hydraulic fluid, and more. Pay close attention to the material used for diaphragms and balls, like PTFE, Santoprene, and Buna-N, so you have the inner components that will properly handle your chemicals without breaking down and failing.
